>> The HiGS Components
HiGS is comprised of three specialized fact-gathering systems or engines. Each of
these engines is designed to gather information in a particular way.
The three fact-finding engines are:
- Histories
- Assessments
- Body Systems
Histories
Historical information is crucial to your health. HiGS gathers historical information
and adds it to your profile. Your health baseline is extended with your Personal
Illnesses History, Family Illnesses History, and even Cultural History because your
family and heritage can also play a part in your overall health. Detailed health
histories can assist you and your healthcare provider in making better decisions
about your health today and in the future.
Assessments
Assessments are commonly used for determining the risk of a particular issue, disease,
etc.. An individual Assessment focuses on one particular area and asks a series
of questions related to that one particular area. These questions help determine
a risk evaluation for a specific issue.
Assessments consider symptoms consistent with standard criteria and also include
physical, nutritional, sociological, and other practical dynamics. Assessments include
common diseases and conditions such as: high blood-pressure, type II diabetes, reproductive
and sexual issues, and obesity. Psychological Assessments include disorders and
problems such as: depression, anxieties, dementias, substance abuse, and sleep disturbances.
A typical Assessment, such as Sleep Disturbances, will ask numerous questions about
our habits, feelings, and physical nature to determine if the user is at no risk,
mild risk, moderate risk, or severe risk for having sleep disturbances.
Body Systems
Our bodies are extremely complex living machines with a multitude of individual
components. It is not uncommon for us to have complaints or physical symptoms that
ail us. HiGS health customers can capture their symptoms and address what is relevant
to them. All three areas—Histories, Assessments, and Body Systems offer a
more comprehensive view of health. Your results become patterns of information about
who you are, what you have experienced, and what you are feeling and thinking about.
These results can be compared for a more complete picture.
HiGS brings it all together with a Personal Health
History (PHH)
The information gathered through Histories, Assessments, and Body Systems are first
steps towards better health. The Personal Health History (PHH) enables HiGS
health customers to bring their results together into a single document.
The PHH includes only the information you want. It does not have to include every
History, Assessment, and Body System. This facilitates sharing only relevant information
with your healthcare provider. The PHH is a report that can be reviewed by you,
and if you choose, by your physicians when planning and managing your healthcare.
